HeartSpeak, Simply Sentimental

These Blue Eyes

I’ve looked into the eyes of a tiny human we made together
And saw the soul God wove from our inner beings.

The vision of autumn splendor in red, green and gold
On early morning walks reminds me God is an Artist.

Seeing an elderly couple walking slowly hand in hand
Tells me love and patience can last a lifetime.

My eyes plant beautiful flowers in my mind
To pluck on cold, lifeless mornings and feel new again.

When distant memories of my parents fade,
I look at cherished photos or a card they penned for me.

Love and kindness over spite and bitterness
That is what I see with these blue eyes.

HeartSpeak

Angel vs Demon

Demon: You’re alone again at Christmas.
Angel: O little town of Bethlehem, how still we see thee lie.

Demon: Aren’t you feeling forgotten and lonely?
Angel: The first Noel the angels did say was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay.

Demon: Where’s your family? Why aren’t there presents under the tree?
Angel: We three kings of orient are bearing gifts we traverse afar.

Demon: I get tired of hearing you sing Christmas carols. You sound awful. Hurts my burning ears!

Angel: 🎶 Rocking around the Christmas tree at the Christmas party hop … Deck the halls with boughs of holly
Fa la la la la, la la la la (fa la la la la, la la la la)
‘Tis the season to be jolly … Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock, Jingle bells chime in jingle bell time … Although it’s been said many times, many ways … Merry Christmas to you! 🎵

Demon: Enough! I’m going back home! I’m sick of your Christmas spirit.
Angel: So long, farewell … goodbye!

2021 Merry Christmas to everyone ~ Sheila
